About Us

Based in Lewis County, Washington, Backfire Band has been performing professionally since 2000. BACKFIRE plays a wide variety of high energy country music, classic rock, southern rock and even a few blues tunes. They focus on songs that are most popular in addition to a mixture of driving originals.

The band has opened shows for: "Little Big Town", "David Allen Coe", "Phil Vassar", "Jake Owen" and country superstar, "Travis Tritt".

Jim Albrecht

Rochester, WA

Jim is one of the original members of Backfire Band. He plays a Pedulla bass guitar on stage. Jim is known for his high tenor harmony voice and sings lead on several Backfire Band songs. Jim has had music influences around him his entire life, including his father who played guitar and sang. Jim has played in several other NW bands, including North-Forty and Amaretto.

Tom Spahr

Chehalis, WA

Tom joined Backfire Band in 2004. On stage, he plays a gorgeous pdp (by DW) drum kit. Tom has always been in a band dating back to high school (other than a short period of time when he was deployed overseas in the Army).  Tom sings lead and harmony vocals with Backfire Band. His musical influences include The Beatles and The Eagles.
